Valerie Camillo, CMO & CRO, shared with the audience how the Washington Nationals has been a leader with regards to embracing technology, including business intelligence and innovations. She highlighted how, for more than a decade, the franchise has made a concerted effort to focus on and incorporate such features as digital storytelling, augmented reality, AI, and mobile payments, making it one of sport’s most progressive tech organizations. Additionally, Ms. Camillo shared real-time perspectives on how sports gambling is transforming the fan experience.
In his first public appearance with TEGNA, Kurt Rao, SVP & CTO, shared how legacy broadcasting companies are creating more personalized one-on-one relationships with consumers and delivering content that’s most relevant by leveraging data. Mr. Rao also highlighted what type of investments the organization is making in innovative technology companies through their dedicated investment arm and what new businesses are most interesting to them.
